Dear Eric Wilson,
I'm a teacher's assistant in a small rural school. I work with Grade Six boys on their reading. Last year the boys could read, but comprehension and interest were low.
This year has been a completely different story. The boys' core teacher suggested we try an Eric Wilson mystery. That is when our class became interesting and exciting. The boys discovered reading is fun! This new attitude has improved their comprehension, writing skills and vocabulary. They love to predict who did it, and what's going to happen next.
Your books have opened up a whole new world for them. I have enjoyed this school year so much more, and I know the boys have too.
Bonnie C., Grade 5 teacher, Winnipeg, Manitoba writes:
"I just want to let you know that I was so impressed with your ease at keeping 140 children enthralled with your storytelling, excerpts from your books, slides presentation, rewards for listening, stretch breaks, and most of all your encouraging words to our up-and-coming writers.
"Your tips for writing good stories inspired my students. Two of my students who went into the gym before school to hang their posters returned to class ecstatic that they'd met you. It was an amazingly wonderful experience to meet you and have our students get to know one of their beloved writers."
"His enthusiasm is contagious, and he certainly makes writing and books seem a wonderful idea."
